Shunsuke Togami extends his contract in Ochsenhausen
TTF Liebherr Ochsenhausen can continue to count on its star player: Shunsuke Togami has extended his contract with the Bundesliga club for another year and will once again wear the Upper Swabian jersey next season. This also resolves the final outstanding personnel issue in the current roster.
For the top Japanese player, this will be his third consecutive season in Ochsenhausen, marking his fourth year overall with TTF. The 24-year-old is currently ranked 18th in the world and capped off his international success last year by winning the World Doubles Championship. Recently, however, the right-hander had to sit out due to injury and missed TTF’s last few matches.
Shunsuke Togami himself is looking forward to the upcoming season: “I’m very excited to be able to play for the TTF again next season. I’ll do my best to contribute even more to the team than I did this season. Thank you all for your support so far.”
TTF President Kristijan Pejinovic is also pleased: “We are very happy that we can continue to count on Shunsuke and support him in his development. We value the mutual trust and his clear commitment to the club. By winning the gold medal at last year’s World Championships, he impressively demonstrated that he is a top athlete with great sportsmanship. His demeanor is characterized by fairness and respect—both at the table and beyond. He is not only a key player on the court but also a vital cornerstone within our training group. We are confident that he will continue to fulfill his role as a leader with complete dedication.”
With this contract extension, as well as the previously announced personnel decisions regarding Iulian Chirita, the new signings Darius Movileanu and Daniel Berzosa, and the departure of Andreas Levenko, the TTF’s roster planning is complete for the time being.
